Frequently asked questions

Your questions.

How does a hygienist work with my dentist?

The hygienist works alongside your dentist, who remains your main point of contact. The appointment is dedicated to oral hygiene: scaling, gum care and prevention advice tailored to your situation.

How much does an appointment cost?

The price depends on the treatment time needed, following the Swiss Dental Hygienists fee recommendation. We are happy to give you an indicative estimate before your appointment: just write to us or ask when booking.

Is it covered by insurance?

Not by basic health insurance (LAMal). Some supplementary dental plans contribute: please check your policy.

How often should I come?

We set the interval with you based on your gum health and risk factors (smoking, diabetes, braces, implants). For periodontitis, follow-up every 3 to 6 months is usually recommended.

My gums bleed when I brush. Should I worry?

Healthy gums don't bleed. Repeated bleeding is often a sign of inflammation: it is a good time to book an appointment.
